Karma Yoga

What is Karma Yoga?

Karma in its most basic sense means action, and yoga means union. Thus Karma yoga literally means path of union
through action. It is described as a way of acting, thinking and willing by which one acts in accordance
with one's duty (dharma) without consideration of personal selfish motives. Action without being attached to the
fruits of one's deeds. Therefore, without being attached to the fruits of activities, one should act as a matter of
duty, and by working without attachment one can attain the union.

Karma yoga, the "discipline of action" is based on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, a sacred Sanskrit scripture of
Hinduism. One of the four path of yoga, Karma yoga focuses on the commitment to duty (dharma) while at the
same time remaining detached from the results.

Now a days number of yoga school also offer the concept of Karma yoga in a different way where they ask people
to come to stay at their ashram/centre and work according to rules and regulation of center/ ashram incharge and
in exchange they can get free food and free place to stay.

Surprisingly Number of people comes to Indian ashram and stay and work free  thinking that may be after few
months perhaps they could be purified or karma would be purified only to get disillusioned.
