What is High Blood pressure and why certain Yoga posture are not recommended if having HBP?

Blood pressure is the measurement of the force of the blood on the arteries as the heart pushes the blood
through the body.  High Blood pressure is also called “hypertension.” In a normal adult, a blood pressure close to
120/80 mm Hg is considered to be normal. When blood pressure stays high, greater than or equal to 140/90
mmHg, then it is considered high blood pressure. High blood pressure increases the risk for heart disease and
stroke,heart failure or kidney failure.

According to recent estimates, nearly one in three U.S. adults has high blood pressure. In fact, many people have
high blood pressure for years  without knowing it and this is reason it is often called the "silent killer."The only
way to tell if you have high blood pressure is to have your blood pressure checked.

Inverted Yoga postures like Headstand and shoulderstand increases the pressure on heart and hence not
recommended for those who are already having high blood pressure.
