Successful Professional Coaches use a Step-by-Step System for Building Their Business
February , 2005. Professional coaching is one of the fastest growing service-based fields yet
more than half of new coaches and consultants make less than $20,000 per year.
The top 9% of the field who makes over six figures all use a step-by-step, systematic
approach to grow their business, according to international best-selling author Stephen
Fairley. "The problem is most personal and business coaches do not have a process in place
to grow their business.
They have not identified their target market and they fail to use effective marketing strategies
to reach that market," he says.
Fairley, author of Getting Started in Personal and Executive Coaching (Wiley, 2003), recently
launched the Business Building Center with Michelle Schubnel, President of the highly
successful Coach and Grow R.I.C.H. program.
The Business Building Center is a membership site devoted to teaching life coaches and
business coaches a systematic process for finding new clients, generating more revenues,
and building their practices.
The center's five-step process to creating a financially successful coaching practice starts with
identifying the person
or company most likely to buy from you initially, repeatedly and at the highest profit margin.
The second step is
selecting two or three specific marketing strategies, such as speaking or networking, to
connect with likely prospects.
"The Business Building Center brings together all the best practices of highly successful
coaches and a massive
resource library in one central location. It not only teaches professional coaches a system, but
also gives them all
the resources necessary to generate more revenues,"
New Difficult-Boss Feedback Mechanism
February , 2005 - Research indicates that approximately 40% of employees have had to deal
with a bad boss, and
Gallup's survey of over 1,000,000 employees found that if a company is losing good people,
more than any other
single reason, the cause is their immediate supervisor. To help both individuals and their
companies,
Badbossology.com has launched a new, anonymous "Email Link" Program - a free service that
people can use to
safely email resources to their bosses and senior management to address difficult boss
behaviors and promote
useful discussion. Said Co-Founder Gary Lahey, "This Program has been operating on a pilot
basis since last
August, over 400 people have used it and we haven't had any negative feedback."
Site visitors can forward a link to any of the over 1,200 Badbossology.com resources by
choosing the "Send
Anonymously" option and providing the email address of the recipient. In all cases, senders
can see the exact
content of the actual email that will be sent directly from Badbossology.com's server. The
recipient does not know
who initiated the message, and the recipient's email address is not used for anything other
than sending the
resource material.
Badbossology.com is designed to protect both people and companies. The site provides key
resources for bosses,
executives and boards, and highlights material from sources such as The Chicago Tribune,
CNNMoney.com, Fast
Company, The Harvard Business School, and the Wall Street Journal's CareerJournal.com. The
following site
excerpt reflects its balanced approach: "We want to go on the record about the importance of
supporting and
acknowledging good bosses. No one is perfect so we shouldn't expect perfection from a boss.
