NASSCOM, the chamber of commerce and “voice” of the IT software and services industry in
India, is organizing
the NASSCOM HR Summit 2005, the second edition of this annual event, at Le Royal Meridien,
Chennai on
July 19-20, 2005.

The theme for this year’s event is “Capability building and talent management.”NASSCOM HR
Summit 2005, aimed
at fostering stronger industry-academia partnerships and alliances, that will eventually
contribute to growth and
development of a skilled supply pool.

This event is a knowledge-sharing platform, with the objective of addressing key issues
pertaining to IT workforce
development.

The IT software and services industry has grown rapidly over the last decade. It now
encompasses over one million
employees. Human resource challenges viz. attracting, training, retaining and motivating
employees are the critical
success-determinants for this industry in the process of growth.

Kiran Karnik, President, NASSCOM, said, “The Indian IT sector can sustain its robust growth
path, provided it can
successfully stave off some of the human resource challenges it will face as it moves forward.

NIIT in Top 20 Global List of Training Outsourcing Providers

NIIT, the global Training major today announced its inclusion in Training Outsourcing.com’s
global listing of Top 20
Companies in Training Outsourcing Industry for 2005.

The US-based, TrainingOutsourcing.com is an authority and industry’s first and only
knowledge-based community
dedicated to training outsourcing industry.
Over 50 companies were considered and evaluated on fourteen processes and business
categories. Selection to
the ‘2005 - TOP 20 Companies in the Training Outsourcing Industry’ was based on eight
process capabilities and six
business capabilities.

The selection criteria included: diagnostics, strategic integration, content development,
portfolio management,
sourcing, technology integration, administration, training delivery, strategic reporting, financial

IIM Lucknow inaugurated its first Noida campus program

Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) inaugurated its first programme from its
NOIDA campus today.

WMP is a program for working executives, entrepreneurs and professionals who have a desire
to enhance their
knowledge and skills in a formal setting while continuing to be engaged in their ongoing
professions/businesses.

The IIML (NOIDA Campus) is coming up in 20-acres of beautifully landscaped land in Sector 62
of NOIDA. The
campus will also house banks, ATMs, a post office, telecom centre, a restaurant, and a general
merchandise shop.
